Glee! What Happened? Where did it all go wrong?

I’ve been a Glee fan since day one (yeah I said it!).  Before the band wagon picked up millions and millions of fans. Back when they only showed one episode and took a hiatus months. I waited patiently for the show to return as a full on series. But, what the heck happened?

The show went from being based around a bunch of high school misfits who looked for acceptance through their Glee club to a full on high school musical catastrophe! I know that most people categorized it as a high school musical show from the jump, but Glee was not that in the beginning. Now, you can find the cast walking down a hallway and breaking out into a full on performance where back up singers and a band just magically appear, booty (BTW this was something the writers and creator of the show said it would not happen. Lies!).

I think there are a three things that are truly throwing the show into a quick “canceled out of no where” status.

1. Stop making every episode about a musical guest. It’s cool to throw in a couple guest stars here and there, but Jeez stop making the whole show about them. Go back to the basics and base the story lines on the cast. Make it about them, the misfits.

2. Every episode does not have to be based on life altering message. I’m over the whole gay and lesbian act every week. Okay we get it gay kids are bullied, but Jeez can you please bring another topic to the table. Can we get an episode that’s just entertaining? An episode where I don’t have to think about teen pregnancy, poverty, or homosexuality? Just one. One that I can walk away from and just remember how great the songs were.

3. The writing is getting ridiculous. Take last night’s episode for example….really, you have Kurt (who was voted prom queen, wow) telling Karosfky to "come out" in a crowded gym at prom? Really? Also, you have Sue pulling teeth out of students. Really? Then you have Finn and Jessie in a shoving match that lasted like 20 mins, who fights like that? Lastly, Rachel gets slapped by Quinn and she’s flattered by it. Really? Come on, give me a break. I understand it’s not real, but Jeez it’s a bit ridiculous.

Any who, that’s my take on Glee.

Before I go I do have to mention one thing………….Adele music should not be sang by anyone other than Adele. Food for thought.

American Idol, I'm still watching it.

Although AI has definitely reached the point of SnoozeFest.com I am still watching.

I still think the contestants are pretty darn talented and I enjoy watching them perform, but after a while there's only so much of anyone I can take.

They should really just cut down the show to 1 hour instead of 2.

I'm looking forward to the end.....I'm calling it right now.......James Durbin!

Tonight...........Jacob says goodbye!

Real World! What the Crap is wrong with these people!

Not sure if it's just me, but does anyone else think that MTV pick the ronchiest people ever for this season's Real World?

Maybe I'm just getting old and watching a bunch of 24 year old's making mistake after mistake is just not that appealing to me anymore.  I'm not sure.

Let me break it down quick status for everyone.....
1.  LeRoy iwll have an STD before he leaves Vegas!
2.  Nany will realize she is better off being a lesbian.
3.  Naomi will be someone's baby mama.
4.  Mike is gay.
5.  Zito is Bi
6.  Heather, well can't quite call that one yet. lol.

American Idol!!! WTF? Well not really!

Okay, jaw dropping results last night on idol, right?  Nah!  One of our guest writers (Melissa 'hope you feeling better') described idol the best.  It's not a singing competition.  It's just a popularity contest for the fans who ACTUALLY vote.

Take me for example, I watch the show religiously.  My wife and I really enjoy watching AI every night it's on, but ask me if we vote.  Come on, ask me.  My answer would be, “NOPE.COM!”
But, I bet if you asked the 7 million teenage girls that think Scotty is a heartthrob their reply would be………..”yeah, I voted like 10 times last night!”  Or, “OMG, Scotty is like so hot I voted for him until my fingers turned blue!”

The Voice!

No, not that voice, it's not God calling.

'The Voice' premiered Tuesday night, and lets just say, Chub is a fan!!!!

I know, I don't need to be a mind reader to know what everyone is thinking.........."another singing show!"  Or, "they are copying American Idol."  To both of those comments I say GOODDAY.COM. lol.

American Idol, Who's going home? I can't do this anymore!!! lol

So how great was American Idol last night?  I can't believe how great this season has turned out.  Yeah, I know, I know, many of you are fixated on the bad parts of the show (voting).  But, you cannot deny that most, if not all, of the contestants are simply phenomenal singers.

Plus, it gives us something entertaining to watch on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  HA!

I'm going to keep this one short and sweet because I have lots to do today and very little time.

American Idol! Who Was Sent Home? Check it! (VIDEO)

So, is everyone done picking their jaws up off the floor already?  WTF, is the least I have to say after last night’s American Idol.  Again, WTF?  Lol.
Never in a million years would I have guessed that last night we would be saying goodbye to one of the most talented contestants on this year’s Idol, Pia Toscano.

Quick breakdown for anyone who didn’t watch the show last night:

Bottom 3:
Jacob, Stefano, and Pia.
Do I think the bottom 3 was justified?
To a certain degree, yes, Jacob’s stupid comment about America during Wednesday’s AI was simply unnecessary.  I knew that he would be in the bottom 3 because of it.  Plus, I know he is a great singer, but he is starting to irritate me when he is on stage.  Stefano is also a great singer, but not better than most of the other contestants.  I knew he would be in the bottom three.  Pia, was her performance great?  Not so much, but did she deserve to be in the bottom 3 because of it?  No, she does not.

How on earth does America vote to keep James Durbin, Haley, or Stefano over Pia?  I just don’t understand it.  But, on the bright side, now that Pia has been eliminated she can start her career without being stuck in an American Idol contract (we all know what Kelly Clarkson went through).

On a side note; I love how all three judges were completely outraged that Pia was sent home.  But, I kept thinking to myself, I wonder how Stefano and Jacob feel.  I mean think about it.  If all three judges are commenting on how the decision is completely wrong…..that America made a mistake.  How crappy would you feel if you were allowed to stay while Pia was sent home?

'Jersey Shore' Spin off, Who will be the Cast?

Okay, so did Chub call it?  Or, did Chub call it?  It was only a matter of time before MTV split up the cast of ‘Jersey Shore’ to create spin offs.
As of Thursday MTV officially has released that 2 new shows will be created involving Snooki, JWOW, and Pauly D (obviously the best members of the cast).  The 2 shows haven’t been given an official name as of yet, but descriptions of what the shows will entail have been released.

Spin off #1 (Snooki and JWOW)

For the Snooki and JWoww show, MTV said "viewers will get to see how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over in this 12-episode series. The locale may be different, but the friendship is sure to remain the same."

Spin off #2 (Pauly D)

Pauly D's show would focus on his rising DJ career.
"Pauly D's jet-setting and often hilarious life on the road as one of the country's most in-demand DJs. Aiming to become one of the world's most successful and recognized names in music, viewers will get to see Pauly D chase his dream with the help of the best friends he grew up with in Rhode Island by his side," MTV described in a release on Thursday.

My opinion:  Pauly D’s show sound pretty dope.  It’s going to be fun times seeing him interact with people outside of the Jersey house.  The Snooki and JWOW show I’ll give a chance, just because Snooki is hilarious.

In regards to ‘Jersey Shore,’ I do think MTV will bring them back for one more season, if they are lucky.  But, honestly I think the show has gone through its life cycle already.  It’s time to put the dog down.  The show (especially towards the end) was the same old drama with the same old people.  Really, it just became predictable.  That’s my take on it.

Anyone excited about the spin offs?  I know I am.

Fall TV Coming Soon! Chubs PICKS!

Fall T.V. is approaching quickly, so everyone please start gearing up the TiVo's, DVR's, or any other recording apparatus you may own.  I know everyone is on a busy schedule, so I took the liberty of choosing 3 must see shows for all you Chubbies to enjoy!  I call them Chub's Fall T.V. picks, ENJOY!

1. Vampire Diaries (Premiers 09/09/10 on the CW)

The Diaries ended with many unanswered questions.  The return of Katherine (Nina Dobrev) to Mystic Falls is definitely going to bring about a lot of chaos to the show.  In addition, does Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) become a vampire after his suicide attempt?  And, are the creators about to introduce werewolves to the story?  Which would make perfect sense and it would explain why Tyler Lockwood's (Michael Tevino) eyes turned yellow on the season finale.

2. Glee (Premiers 09/21/10 on FOX)

Glee has not only been adding to their celeb appearances, but with a summer full of awards added to their trophy cases and a third season already guaranteed FOX definitely has a prime time winner on their hands.   Glee creators have recently spoken out on the issue of pushing the envelope even more so with the upcoming seasons.  One major buzz, which already has Christian groups across America on the attack, is Kurt (Chris Colfer) will be dating the new high school quarter back during season two.

3.  Sons of Anarchy (Premiers 09/07/10 on FX)

Sons of Anarchy is another great show coming back this Fall.  Although the show was snubbed out of every major award ceremony this summer the show seems to only get better and better!  During the season finale we witnessed Jax's (Charlie Hunnam) son being kidnapped by the Irish man.  I am very curious to see where the writers take this......will they have the gang going to Ireland?  If so, the show will definitely take a turn, since the Son's are always used to having the protection of Charming on their side.  In addition, is "half-sack" (Johnny Lewis) really dead?  I really hope he is not.  I enjoyed the comedic relief he brought to the show.

So there you have it.  Be prepared to become reacquainted with you couch once again!  HA!
